  Award Descriptions

 The NC 4-H Alumni and Friends Association will present up to three awards to deserving alumni of the 4-H program.  Award nominations are due April 16th.  Please nominate a deserving alumni today.

Young 4-H Alumni Award

            The 4-H Young Alumni Award is presented to a 4-H alumnus under the age of 30 who has transitioned from 4-H member to 4-H volunteer.  Nominees should be individuals who have become actively involved as volunteers in any aspect of the 4-H program at the club, county, district or state level.  Submit a nomination for this award on-line (preferred) or printed and mailed.  

 

Full Circle 4-H Alumni Award

            The Full Circle NC 4-H Alumni Award is presented to a 4-H alumnus who gives back to the 4-H program, ideally making an impact as a volunteer at some level in the program.  The successful nominees would be individuals who use the knowledge and skills they gained as a 4-H’er to give back to the 4-H program today. Submit a nomination for this award on-line (preferred)  or printed and mailed.    

 

 

Outstanding Citizen 4-H Alumni Award

            The Outstanding Citizen 4-H Alumni Award is presented to a 4-H alumnus who has used his/her knowledge and skills gained through 4-H to make an impact on the greater community. Submit a nomination for this award on-line (preferred)  or printed and mailed.  

 

 

Timeline for Presentation of Awards

April 16    Nominations received for all Alumni Awards

May 15    Award recipients announced through Extension system

June 1    Nominees receive information about opportunities to register for and participate in recognition event held during NC 4-H Congress

July       Awards presented during designated function at 4-H Congress
 

Nomination Process
Awards shall be for individual recognition only.  No groups, teams or couples should be nominated for the awards.

Nominations shall include the nomination form and may be supplemented by up to two additional letters of nomination from Extension staff members, 4-H members, volunteers or others in the community knowledgeable about the individual’s contributions relevant to that particular award.  Letters should be no more than one page each.

Incomplete nominations may be disqualified.

Nominations not received by the deadline may be disqualified.

Preferably, nominations will be submitted online via the web portal.  Should it be necessary to mail hard copies of the nomination, note that the nomination form information should be contained on a single page with nomination letters attached with a staple in the upper left corner.  Do not bind nominations into folders or binders.
